SPOTRS Terms of Use
Last updated: September 29, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and [the SPOTRS team, legal name to be added before public launch] ("SPOTRS", "we"). By using SPOTRS you agree to them. They're written in plain language; a lawyer will review them before the public launch.
1. Using SPOTRS
- You must be at least 16 years old (or older, if that's the age of digital consent where you live).
- One person per account. Keep your password safe; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
- SPOTRS is free while it's being tested. If paid features come later, you'll see the price before you pay, and Apple's terms apply to anything bought through the App Store.
2. Not medical advice
SPOTRS helps you track training, nutrition, recovery and progress. It doesn't give medical, nutritional or physiotherapy advice.
- Stretching, foam-rolling, sauna and cold-plunge guides are general information.
- Blood pressure: SPOTRS only records and averages the readings you enter. It doesn't diagnose anything. A very high reading shows a safety note; if you're worried about a reading, or have symptoms, contact a doctor or emergency services, not SPOTRS.
- Fasting tools are optional. Don't use them if you're pregnant, have diabetes, have or had an eating disorder, or your doctor has told you not to fast.
- Food information from Open Food Facts, USDA and "Say what you ate" can be incomplete or wrong. Check it against the label before you rely on it.
Check with a doctor before starting a new exercise, diet, fasting or heat/cold routine, especially if you have a health condition or an injury, or are pregnant. Stop if something hurts or feels wrong. You train at your own risk.
3. Your content
- You own what you post (photos, clips, captions, comments, messages, playlists).
- You give SPOTRS a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, edit into the form you chose (for example a trimmed clip) and show your content only to the people you chose, and only to run SPOTRS. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies others already have (such as screenshots) and backups kept for up to 30 days.
- Only post content you have the right to post. Songs on posts are links to music services; don't put music you don't have the rights to into clips.
4. Community rules
Don't:
- harass, bully, threaten or shame anyone, including about their body, weight or food;
- post hate speech, sexual content, nudity, violence, or anything illegal;
- encourage self-harm, eating disorders or dangerous "challenges";
- post false or dangerous health claims, or sell drugs, steroids or other regulated substances;
- impersonate people, spam, scam, or collect other people's data;
- post someone else's photo, or anyone's location, without permission;
- try to break, overload or get around SPOTRS' security or privacy rules.
We may remove content that breaks these rules, and limit, suspend or close accounts that do so repeatedly or seriously. Report anything that breaks them from the "•••" menu. If you think we got a decision wrong, email support@spotrs.app.
5. Coaches and groups
Coaches on SPOTRS apply with a certification, and the SPOTRS team checks it before they get the "Verified coach" badge. That's a basic check: it doesn't make SPOTRS responsible for a coach's advice, and SPOTRS isn't part of any coaching arrangement, payment or agreement between you. Coaches must keep their certification current, give advice only within it, list only an area they really serve, and respect what clients share with them. Coaches who lead groups are responsible for moderating them. Only share what you're comfortable with; you can unshare, or end a coaching link or leave a group, at any time.
6. Other services
Some features use other services (food databases, OpenStreetMap, GIPHY, Spotify, Apple and others; see the Privacy Policy). Their content is theirs, and their terms apply when you use their apps or links.
7. Ending
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or if the law requires it, and will tell you why unless we legally can't.
8. Liability
SPOTRS is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, data you didn't download, or injuries from training. Nothing here limits rights you have by law as a consumer, or liability that can't legally be limited.
9. Changes
We'll tell you in the app before important changes apply. If you keep using SPOTRS afterwards, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you're a consumer, you may also have the right to bring claims where you live.
